This scholarship is dedicated to the memory of DeOnna M. Britt, Esq.
The DeOnna M. Britt Scholarship Fund was established in August 2022 by her mother as a tribute to her memory.
DeOnna graduated from Hampton University in 2008 with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Government. Pursuing her passion for law, she then attended Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan where she obtained her Juris Doctor degree. DeOnna was a licensed attorney in Atlanta, Georgia with a successful law practice specializing in business formations and trademarks.
DeOnna had a particular passion for real estate. She was a real estate marketing strategist and a public speaker at many real estate investor conferences. She founded her own business called Law Clerk On Demand, LLC (“LCOD”) in 2015 which began her entrepreneurship journey. This company still exists today with the same mission DeOnna set at its beginning, to provide accurate and reliable fresh quality leads for real estate investors and agents. In 2021, DeOnna also started an online social real estate group, which she called "Real Estate Talk Club," on the Clubhouse platform. The group began with approximately 15 members and has grown to be the largest such group online, with over 122,000 members. The group allowed DeOnna to do what she did best, encourage and support her many real estate agents and real estate investor friends across the country.
In 2021 DeOnna was able to fulfill another of her dreams by becoming a teacher at Kennesaw State University. She strongly believed in the power of education, thus inspiring this scholarship fund.
The DeOnna M. Britt Scholarship will be awarded annually in partnership with Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia.
